The building is designed to offer a high sustainable development rating and will have:

  • A timber-framed structure
  • Western red cedar cladding
  • 96% recycled hem insulation
  • A natural zinc standing seam roof

Plans to be energy efficient through renewable energy sources include:

  • Solar panels
  • Energy-efficient lighting with PIR sensors
  • Heat recovery extraction
  • Energy-efficient windows, doors and solar glazing
  • Super-efficient heating systems
  • Water efficiency measures
  • A sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS) will be developed in order to minimise the risk of flooding

Biodiversity will also be addressed throughout the development including extensive tree and shrub planting to enhance the surroundings, promote privacy and enhance biodiversity.

We have been lucky enough to spot foxes and their cubs on the site and a wide range of birds and other wildlife.
