Who uses the Kilgrimol centre?

Currently, members of Girlguiding use the centre for their weekly meetings and it often hosts weekend training sessions for adult members.

Prior to lockdown, it was a very popular venue for sleepovers and residential events with local and national guiding and scouting units. It has been used as a base to experience the attractions locally including Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and many others.

Before Covid-19 restrictions, Kilgrimol was used by other charities and community groups for a small contribution to cover running costs. We have supported a range of groups including Fylde Community Link, a charity which supports adults with learning difficulties; PIP, a charity which organises activities for older children and young adults with behavioural and learning difficulties; a dance school; various sports groups; ladies’ fitness group and a photography group.

It was also used as a satellite venue of the local Surestart group, contributing to the well-being of a great many people. As restrictions ease, we are looking forward to building relationships with local community groups who are in need of a venue for their work or activities.
