Currently, members of Girlguiding use the centre for their weekly meetings and activities, we host weekend training sessions for adult members and have bookings from other users such as Trefoil Guild and railway enthusiasts group.
Prior to lockdown, it was a very popular venue for sleepovers and residential events with local and national guiding and scouting units. It has been used as a base to experience the attractions locally including Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and many others. Although we are not taking residential bookings at the moment, this is a priority for our new build.
Before Covid-19 restrictions, Kilgrimol was used by other charities and community groups for a small contribution to cover running costs. We have supported a range of groups including Fylde Community Link, a charity which supports adults with learning difficulties; PIP, a charity which organises activities for older children and young adults with behavioural and learning difficulties; a dance school; various sports groups; ladies’ fitness group and a photography group.
It was also used as a satellite venue of the local Surestart group, contributing to the well-being of a great many people.
We are keen to work with local community groups who are in need of a venue for their work or activities. Get in touch at kilgrimol@girlguidinglancswest.org.uk
